We’re Ingrid and Sven

We wanted to share the world through our eyes and hope we can transmit our love for travel and exploring new cultures.

Our first adventure as a couple began in 2018, when we met during a semester abroad at the same university in Bangkok, Thailand. We explored this beautiful country and nearby countries in Southeast Asia sometimes solo, sometimes with friends. It was during this time that we truly experienced life as backpackers for the first time.

Back home in Germany, we continued to seize every semester break and annual leave to uncover new destinations. Until we realized we yearned for more. Ingrid decided to leave her job and Sven realized it was the ideal moment to travel before stepping into a full-time job.

At the end of 2023, we set off to our round-the-world adventure with a one-way-ticket to Nicaragua. Until now have traveled to more than 30 countries together.

INGRID

Born and raised in Mexico, her love for travel and experiencing new cultures began at age 16, when she spent an exchange year in Germany. She also lived in the U.S. for a year during high school but ultimately decided to return to Germany for university, where she has lived ever since.

Her adventurous spirit, love for travel, and desire to immerse in unique cultural experiences led her to spend a semester abroad in Thailand, so by the age of 22, she had already called three continents home.

A true foodie, she could spend hours doing research for the best places to eat. She loves listening to podcasts, read books while drinking her favorite drink tea—the thermos always in reach.

SVEN

Passionate about breathtaking landscapes, wildlife, and the thrill of adrenaline packed activities, traveling has allowed him to fully embrace what he loves. Spotting wildlife in the Amazonas at night, hiking up to the ridge of an outbursting volcano or diving alongside Manta Rays or sharks - just to name a few.

His first solo trip through Vietnam changed his style of traveling forever and now he’s happy to share his adventures with the love of his life and true travel buddy, Ingrid.

Sven is a devoted dog lover who can’t resist petting any dog within reach, so don’t be surprised if a whole pack of stray dogs gathers around him.
