Best Places to Visit in Thailand
Best time to visit Thailand
Thailand has a tropical climate with high temperatures and humidity year-round, divided into three main seasons: the cool season (November–February), the hot season (March–May), and the rainy season (June–October). The best time to visit is during the cool, dry season when temperatures are comfortable, and rainfall is minimal. However, this is also peak tourist season, so expect larger crowds, especially in popular areas.
From March to May, temperatures soar, often exceeding 40°C (104°F) in central and northern Thailand, combined with high humidity that can make sightseeing exhausting. The rainy season from June to October brings heavy showers, particularly on the Andaman Coast (Phuket, Krabi, Koh Lanta), while the Gulf of Thailand islands (Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao) experience their wettest months later, between October and December.
